Report unsafe work in the ACT: WorkSafe ACT portal
Short answer
In the ACT, you report a workplace concern to WorkSafe ACT through its Business Portal. A report can be anonymous, because WorkSafe ACT allows it, or you can give your name. Give your contact details if you want a response. The issue can be physical, biological, chemical, ergonomic or psychosocial, and you can attach an image.

Start on site
WorkSafe ACT’s page for raising a concern opens with “if you see something that doesn’t feel right”. That’s a low bar, and a sensible one. Even so, the site usually needs to hear about it too. A short voice report to your supervisor, with a photo, gets it on the manager’s list the same day. Note the date and who you told, so you can say what’s been tried.
Going to WorkSafe ACT
The route is the portal. WorkSafe ACT says a workplace issue can be physical, biological, chemical, ergonomic or psychosocial, so it isn’t limited to falls and machinery. You can add an image or other supporting information, and the form takes the location of the site or area. The portal times out after 30 minutes, so draft the details elsewhere and paste them in. Write the address, the part of the site and what you saw as a short plain list before you open the form.
Your name and what happens to it
WorkSafe ACT allows a report to be submitted anonymously, or you can identify yourself. To get a response, give your contact details. The page asks for no reason and lists no conditions.
When someone has been hurt
This page is about concerns. A death, a serious injury or a dangerous incident, including a workplace sexual assault incident, goes to WorkSafe ACT as a notification. Our ACT notifiable incidents page covers what it says, including the November 2025 changes.
Where Haznote fits
For an ACT job, WorkSafe ACT’s portal asks for its own photo and location. Haznote doesn’t submit anything to WorkSafe ACT, so you attach the photo and location in the portal yourself. Anonymous reports in Haznote are a site setting, off by default and best-effort.
