Join a site from a QR poster, with no app store account
Short answer
A worker scans the QR poster for a site their company already runs on Haznote. A page opens in their browser and they join with a name and email. The page then shows how to install Haznote on that phone. There’s no store account to create, and the manager doesn’t have to type each worker in.
The onboarding problem
Getting people onto a safety tool is the slow part of a rollout. Typing in forty names and chasing store accounts eats a week. Put a QR poster at the gate or in the site office instead, and each worker joins the site their company has already set up.
What the worker sees
- Scan the poster with the phone camera
- The join page opens in the browser, with no install beforehand
- Enter a name and email and agree to join the company’s site
- The page then shows how to install the app on that phone
The page recognises the kind of device. Android, iPhone and desktop each get their own steps, and a phone that already has the app is told so. The site code travels with the link, so the worker lands in the right site. A link with a bad code stops at an invalid-code screen.
What the manager does
Put the poster up. Workers are free and never counted in pricing. A manager can also invite workers directly where that suits better, for example for people who don’t carry a phone to site.
Limits, stated plainly
Anyone who walks past can photograph a QR code on a wall. Treat the poster like a site induction sign. Put it where workers are, and check the list of people on your site now and then. A bad or out-of-date code shows an invalid-code screen, so nobody ends up joined to the wrong site.

Do workers need an app store account?
No. They join in the browser and the page shows how to install the app on their phone.
Does the worker pay?
No. Workers are free and never counted in pricing.
What if the QR code is wrong?
The page shows an invalid-code screen. It doesn’t join the worker to a site.
Where this comes from.
This page describes how Haznote works. It makes no claims about the law, so it cites no regulator.
Try it on one real site.
Run it on one site and see the first report land in the manager’s list.
